With every issue of our newsletter, 'The Crucks of It' we will be publishing useful details, design ideas and inspiration for use in your oak-frame building project. 

Being as this is the first publication, we thought it would be a good idea to start from the ground-up, literally; to begin with we are going to look at the foundations for a post-and-beam style oak-frame.

In this case, the oak-frame sits inside the build up of the external walls. The benefit of this is increased exposure of the beautiful oak-frame on the inside of the structure, excellent energy performance, combined with ease and speed of construction,
